Where Will People Spend Eternity April 16, 2022 April 21, 2022 Tony/Robin Gray

I have often heard people say they would rather party in hell with sinners than float around on a cloud in heaven. Many people, both believers and non-believers, have misconceptions about what God has planned for those who love him. People who make Jesus the Lord of their lives will not be sitting around on clouds for eternity. God has amazing, wonderful things promised for those who trust in him.

  • “But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’” (I Corinthians 2:9 NKJV)

God is going to create a new heaven and a new earth for all who choose him.

  • “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.” (Isaiah 65:17 NKJV)
  • “Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” (2 Peter 3:13 NKJV)
  • “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” (Revelation 21:1-7 NKJV)

Those who do not choose God and make Jesus Lord of their life will not be partying with other sinners in Hell. They will be thrown into the Lake of Fire which God created for Satan and the fallen angels. People who do not follow Jesus will be tormented for eternity along with Satan, the fallen angels and demons.

  • “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. (Matthew 25:41 NKJV)
  • But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8 NKJV)
  • And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matthew 25:46 NKJV)

Everyone has the ability to freely choose God and share in the promises he has for believers in eternity.
